Of those respondents using Rust, 59% use it at least occasionally at work with 23% using Rust for the majority of their coding. Rust can now safely be classified as a language used by people in professional settings. Only a quarter of a percent find Rust doesn't have any real benefit over other programming languages. Overall, Rustaceans seem to be having a great time writing Rust with only 1% saying it isn't fun to use. Of those using Rust, 81% are currently using it on at least a weekly basis compared to 72% from last year's survey.ħ5% of all Rust users say they can write production ready code, though 27% say that it is at times a struggle. The percentage of people using Rust continues to rise. However, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Russian speakers were the most likely to prefer not to use English at all for technical conversation. Whereas the early training in the sidepull and snaffle taught the horse to yield and turn to direct pulls of the rein, a fully broke horse in a curb bit responds to pressure of the rein on his neck. This is a major transition for the young horse. Of course, one more test the snaffle horse must pass before graduating to the curb bit is to respond to the neck rein. They’re to go on a loose rein without resistance.” To this end, Hokana wants her horses to carry themselves in a snaffle at the walk, jog and lope without being held together by the rider’s hands. “In our western classes, the current trend is not to hold a horse. As a successful competitor and frequent judge, she knows what is required of a top performance horse. Hokana lays a foundation that will allow the horse to be a dependable show mount. They should be able to execute turns on the haunches, turns on the forehand, sidepass and back up willingly.” They should give or yield to the snaffle without any resistance. “I like to have my horses really broke before going into the curb bit. Just like evaluating any student, Hokana has a checklist of accomplishments for her young horses before moving into the curb bit. It’s only there as a preventive measure.” I don’t like draw reins and tie-downs,” she says, “but I have found the martingale is effective because when the horse has his head in the correct position they don’t feel the martingale. “During the first stages of training I will use a long running martingale on some horses.” She emphasizes that the martingale is not used to pull the horse’s head down. “As the horse learns to give or bend with forward motion, he learns to follow his nose, making him steerable,” Hokana explains, which then permits the horse to become supple through his whole body.Īs training progresses, Hokana uses very little additional equipment. When she rides a horse in a snaffle and applies light pressure with a leading or direct rein, she connects first with the corners of the mouth, which enables her to turn the horse’s head from one side to the other, encouraging the horse to give or yield with his jaw, poll and neck. Even though, with increased pressure, the snaffle can work on the tongue and sensitive bars of the mouth, Hokana’s goal is to encourage the young horse to yield to her hand through just light pressure on the corners of the mouth. “A snaffle is an excellent first bit on a horse because it is a mild bit that works primarily on the corners of the mouth,” says Hokana. The choice of a snaffle as a first bit on a young horse is a logical one. I recommend getting a good-quality, well-made snaffle.” “I have a few that I like with copper inlays set in the mouthpiece. “I prefer a good quality sweet-iron snaffle,” Hokana says. After 30 to 45 days in the sidepull, she switches to a smooth D-ring or loose-ring snaffle. A sidepull is a sort of bitless headstall with reins that allows her to introduce the horse to the idea of turning and giving his head without directly working on his mouth. Then, as the equine equivalent of kindergarten begins, Hokana starts her horses in a sidepull bridle. She also has all caps removed and sharp edges filed down. The vestigial wolf teeth are usually pulled, as they may interfere with the placement of the bit and can irritate the gums. ![]() Then the company will say 13-D broke the rules, and should they choose to follow the rules in the future they can apply again next year. “Your honor I broke the rules but I’m looking out for shareholders best interests now, not my own” will be the argument of the 13-D group. This one looks like an easy call for those investors that want to put on their lawyers hat. CYDY appears to be in a commanding position because of course they are the incumbent but because they also got the 13-D group to admit they didn’t follow the rules and misled investors. There is a key hearing on October 6th that will determine whether or not the company has to accept the ballot of the 13-D proxy group. CytoDyn has been under pressure due to a group of disgruntled investors called the 13-D that want to displace management and of course the shorts tolling the InvestorsHub message board. There are still a lot of risks with these two names. There are two biotechs that seem to be able to treat the entire spectrum of disease so this paired trade of CYDY and TOMDF is a good investment thesis if you believe the vaccination only strategy is flawed and that therapeutics will play an important role in getting out of the pandemic. This point was clearly for shock value because who in their right mind would be having sexual intercourse while they have COVID-19. The article got over 35K hits at the time of writing, and was the top contributor article for 2 days running. Other antivirals like Pfizer’s oral antiviral are designing the same sort of clinical trial of exclusion. Many failed to read the fine print that the drug was for unvaccinated people which happens to be a shrinking demographic and people with at least one underlying condition. It’s not for the masses, but that is precisely what investors assumed when the news broke. The key points that were uncovered is that Molnupiravir is for a very limited population of patients. Likewise vaccine stocks like Moderna (NASDAQ: MRNA), Pfizer (NYSE: PFE), BioNTech (NASDAQ: BNTX), Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ), Vir Technology (NYSE: VIR), and Novamax (NASDAQ:NVAX) are expected to rebound. Merck (NYSE: MRK) is expected to be under pressure Monday as the euphoria starts to wear off and reporters start to dig and ask questions. It also became clearer that both leronlimab and Tollovir might really have a better solution than a vaccine for the entire spectrum of disease. Over the weekend it’s become clear that Molnupiravir is no savior let alone a magic bullet and the road to approval is still a rocky one given the campaign to continue vaccinations. ![]() The sell off in both CYDY and TOMDF was probably attributable to the investor rationalization that now a magic bullet exists to treat COVID-19 early it was therefore time to trim Covid therapeutics because they won’t be necessary. So here’s a sample implementation in Racket, my favorite little Lisp. Without careful planning, that kind of abstraction could be very difficult. Students first were told to write an ordinary implementation following the rules above – then asked how they’d abstract their algorithm so they could replace the rules or even work on a non-rectangular grid. Imagine some kind of life form living in a world. When I started to learn programming as a child, I learned a game called “ Game of Life.” It is a great example of cellular automation and how simple rules can result in complex patterns. There are no reflective elements for nighttime running, which is pretty standard for Adidas running shoes. Adidas offers four other colors, and the shoe is being sold as gender-neutral. I received the color Dash Grey/Signal Coral/Blue Spirit, and I love the combination, especially for summertime. I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but the moment I pulled the 4Ds out of the box, I was impressed with the style and could not wait to get them on my feet. The technology of the 3D-printed lattice midsole does seem to work at absorbing pressure and adapting to your foot. My times were surprisingly good considering the weight on the shoe, and it did not feel as heavy once you hit your paces. ![]() When I was landing on my heels, there was a bit of sinking in feel, and it did not transition well in my strides. The ride is much better if you are a mid to forefoot runner. It was barely noticeable, even when running on bigger rocks. Despite this, I felt low to the ground while running, so I intentionally tried to find some rocks to run on to test if I could feel it underfoot. The midsole is rather substantial, with 28mm in the heel and 18mm in the forefoot. The feeling was firm with a bit of bounce, and it took some time to find my rhythm and get a comfortable cadence. On my first run, I realized that the 3D-printed lattice midsole was not bouncy like Boost or plush like many maximalist running shoes you find at the weight of the 4D Run. Surprisingly smooth ride in the 4D Run 1.0 These will not do well for you during speed work or fartleks as the weight will prevent you from increasing your cadence as much as is needed.
